As a hazard geographer, the interactions of physical and social contexts of vulnerability producing conditions have been at the core of my research. My work blends geospatial analysis with qualitative methods to understand how to represent vulnerable conditions in mainly quantitative ways. I am therefore excited to be part of the interdisciplinary community of academics, practitioners, and policy experts in CADAN. The CADAN collective of applied scholars provide a natural hub to more fully explore the multiple facets of local contexts, and engage in transformative research.
