As a cultural anthropologist working on the risk and disaster matrix, my driving desire and abiding advocacy are to describe, communicate, and advance the knowledge about risk and disaster that we have gained through research. I advocate for work that integrates this knowledge into the policies and practices of those dealing with risk and disaster issues in all their forms worldwide. As a disaster survivor and researcher concerned with the growing proliferation of hazards, disasters, and now displacement across every continent, I am particularly dedicated to the goals and platform of CADAN.
